Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Perkva ("Perkva," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when a merchant installs the Perkva app on their Shopify store, and when that merchant's customers interact with the Perkva loyalty widget on the storefront. Perkva is operated by an independent developer, not a registered company, and support requests are handled directly by that operator.

Data we collect

Perkva follows data minimization: we collect only what the loyalty program needs to function, and nothing more.

• Name — to identify a customer's loyalty account and personalize their balance display.
• Email — to match a customer's Shopify identity to their points balance across sessions.
• Order data — order totals and timestamps, used to calculate points earned, detect refunds/reversals, and compute a store's own reward suggestions. We do not collect or store payment card details, passwords, or full order contents; checkout and payment are handled entirely by Shopify.

How we use this data

Data is used solely to operate the loyalty and points program: calculating points earned on an order, tracking reward unlocks and redemptions, displaying a customer's real-time balance in the storefront widget, and powering the merchant's own dashboard analytics for their store. We do not use customer data for advertising, and we do not build cross-store profiles of individual shoppers.

How we store and protect data

Data is stored on secured, access-controlled infrastructure and transmitted only over encrypted connections. Access is limited to what's needed to operate and support the app. We do not sell customer or merchant data, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

Who we share data with

Data is shared only with Shopify itself, as the platform Perkva runs on, and only as necessary to operate the app, for example issuing a discount code for a redeemed reward. Perkva does not sell data to advertisers or data brokers.

Data requests and deletion

A merchant or their customer can request access to, or deletion of, their data at any time by emailing support@perkva.com. We will verify the request and respond within a reasonable time, consistent with applicable data protection law.

Perkva also implements Shopify's mandatory data protection webhooks for every installed store: customers/data_request (a customer or store owner requests a copy of stored data), customers/redact (a customer's data must be deleted), and shop/redact (a merchant's shop data must be deleted after uninstall, per Shopify's required retention window). These run automatically alongside any direct request made to support@perkva.com.

Data retention

Data is retained only as long as the app remains installed and the loyalty program is active for that store, or as needed to comply with the deletion requirements above. When a merchant uninstalls Perkva, associated shop and customer data is deleted per the shop/redact process described above.

Children's privacy

Perkva is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone we know to be under the age of 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any change will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date above.
